Today the heat in the apartment is unbearable, the kind of heat that makes you feel as if one more step and you’ll fall all to pieces. I got out of the house and into my air-conditioned car and drove myself to a nearby florist, where I picked up a lovely bunch of fresh flowers for only five dollars! I’m pressing some of them to use on the bathroom walls, but the rest I put in a glass...
